Anyways, I thought I’d review a brew that I’d try. This is the Imperial Pilsner by Naragansett.

The aroma is a bit perfume-like. The taste was crisp, bitter, and smooth, if that’s at all possible. Had a mildly buttery taste to it. I find it to be relatively easy to drink.

In all honesty, I highly recommend trying this beer. Well worth it, and it’s a shame they don’t sell it in at least a 4-pack.

blackfoxx:

I have tried this particular company, in Utah. I’m drinking Tilted Smile Imperial Pilsner by Uinta.

The aroma doesn’t stand out much to me, I’m getting nothing from it. The taste is mildly hoppy, yet smooth & refreshing. I find it to be quite an easily drinkable beer.

I enjoyed this beer. I’ve never had an imperial pilsner before, but I really liked this one. I hope Uinta finds its way into the great state of RI.

I felt adventurous tonight. I grabbed this particular bottle and poured it in a glass. I am drinking Samuel Smith’s Organic Chocolate Stout.

The aroma reminded me of a chocolate creme pie. The taste was like drinking a Hershey bar. And I found it quite enjoyable to drink.

I think this is the best chocolate stout I’ve ever had. This could very well be my favorite beer. I don’t know what to say other than I’m going to get more of this in the near future.

Well, I have broken out of hibernation to review a beer nobody...

Well, I have broken out of hibernation to review a beer nobody would expect me to review, considering my choices in terms of what I eat. I am drinking Rogue’s Voodoo Doughnut Bacon Maple Ale.

The aroma is sweet and smoky. The taste is overwhelmingly like that of bacon. I don’t even taste the maple. To be quite honest, it’s a struggle to drink, probably because its been almost four years since I’ve had bacon.

I really didn’t like this beer one bit. Maybe to one who’s a fan of bacon, it might be good, but I might be sick after trying this. Never again.

So, I bought this one for three reasons. One- I like Abita’s beers. Two- it has a cool label. And three- Abbey beers are one of my favorite styles. So I’m drinking Abbey Ale by Abita.

The aroma is fruity & hints of caramel. The taste is mildly sweet, fruity, and fainter hints of hops. I find it to be a very easily drinkable beer.

This is a very enjoyable beer. I love it & recommend it. I want to buy another bottle in the future.

Rating.

I’ve decided to scrap the score rating. I think Rating a beer shouldn’t involve math, and quite frankly, running off numbers is boring.

I’m just going to stick with a simple score of “love it & recommend, like it, it’s ok, try it once, and never again.

So, today I went on a brew tour with my friend Stew from Utah....

So, today I went on a brew tour with my friend Stew from Utah. We went to Epic Brewery in Salt Lake City, and sampled a few beers. The one I liked the most I bought a bottle of, which is the Smoked & Oaked Belgian by Epic.

The aroma is definitely oaky & smoky. The taste is hoppy & sweet. This is a beer to be enjoyed, not an easy one to drink.

I give aroma a 10, taste a 9, and drinkability an 8.5. With 27.5/30, it gets a final score of 92. I greatly enjoyed this beer, and I definitely recommend it to anyone out there. The tour guide did tell me it’ll be available in Massachusetts soon enough, so hopefully I can buy a few different bottles when I’m back home, instead of having to drive to NJ for some.

After work, I grabbed four random beers. This was one of them. Sofie by Goose Island.

The aroma is fruity, a citrusy fruity. The taste is like orange peels & grapes. This beer is dangerously easy to drink.

I give aroma an 8, taste a 9.5, and drinkability a 9.5. With 27/30, it gets a score of 90. Amazing beer. I would recommend this to anyone.

My apologies for such a short post, but this beer was too easy to review.

Tonight I’d like to try one of the many unique beers Rogue...

Tonight I’d like to try one of the many unique beers Rogue releases. The one I’m drinking tonight is their Chipotle Ale. You don’t see it too often, but they list the ingredients on the side of the bottle. Pretty cool!

The aroma is very interesting. It’s spicy, mildly smoky, and it kind of reminds me of something vintage. The taste has some spice & kick; you can taste the pepper in this beer. Spice aside, I find this beer to be surprisingly easy to drink.

I give aroma a 9.5, taste a 9.5, and drinkability a 10. With a 29/30, it gets a final score of 97. This was an awesome beer to try. It’s not a beer that you can drink more than one of, but it’s got a smooth, yet spicy taste to it. And the peppery flavor is not overwhelming in the least.

sesser:

I bought a single beer in a box. This is Firestone Sucaba Barleywine. Aged in barrels.

The aroma is oaky with hints of bourbon. The taste has the presence of bourbon, hints of cocoa & coffee as well. It’s strange to say how drinkable it is. I find it to be somewhat easy to drink, but it should be enjoyed.

I give aroma a 9.5, taste a 9, and drinkability an 8. With 26.5/30, it gets a final score of 88. I love this beer. I’d recommend it to anyone. This feels like a beer you’d enjoy on a special occasion.

I’m outside, enjoying this beautiful Sunday afternoon. I have access to the lappy, kalamata olive hummus & pretzel crisps. Also, I am drinking this Thirteenth Hour Belgian-Style Stout by Sam Adams.

The aroma is deep. I smell oak, I smell hints of hops, and subtle hints of chocolate. The taste is mildly woody, but also chocolatey & spicy. I find it to be an enjoyable beer to drink.

I give aroma a 9.5, taste a 9, and drinkability an 8.5. With 27/30, it gets a final score of 90. I enjoyed this beer greatly. I highly recommend this one. I plan on trying the other Sam Adams beers in these bottles as well. I feel like I’ve had everything they’ve made, with the exception of these special ones and the Utopia.

I think it’s safe to say this is one of my favorite beers...

I think it’s safe to say this is one of my favorite beers right now.

I am at The Apartment. Everyone should be here tonight for some quality Hip Hop. Anyways, onto the review. I’m drinking Irish Style Lager by Rogue.

There isn’t much of an aroma. The taste is mildly hoppy & grainy. It’s very easy to drink.

I give aroma a 6, taste a 6.5, and drinkability a 10. With 22.5/30, it gets a final score of 75. I didn’t find this beer to have much to it, which is why I left such a short post. This would be a beer I would drink multiples of just to get drunk. It was a very tame beer, IMO.

Check out the lovely business cards my truly outrageous fiancé...

Check out the lovely business cards my truly outrageous fiancé made for me!

I’m home, celebrating not just a Celtics win, but a Red...

I’m home, celebrating not just a Celtics win, but a Red Sox win as well. I also watched the last new episode of Transformers Prime for a while, as they say. Transformers has been something dear to me since I was a kid, & this is the first time since the G1 series that I’m interested in a series. Anyways, enough of that, let’s move on to my drink tonight. I am enjoying a bottle of Gravitation by Smuttynose.

Allow me to start by describing the aroma. The aroma is slightly sweet, like bubble gum, but I can also smell the alcohol. The taste has some sugary sweetness to it, but other than that, it’s the alcohol I taste. It’s too strong to say its easy to drink.

I give aroma a 7.5, taste an 8.5, and drinkability a 7. With 23/30, it gets a final score of 78. While I do like the beer, I think it’s hard for me to enjoy it. I haven’t been very experimental lately, and judging by how long it’s been since my last post, I’m a bit rusty & haven’t had the money to get quality beer. Go out and try it once though.

Also, I plan on doing reviews of bars & restaurants very soon, so stay tuned!

I figured I’d celebrate a bland week with a bang....

I figured I’d celebrate a bland week with a bang. I’m at Loie Fuller & having a Monk’s Elixir by Mikkeller.

The aroma has a coffee scent, but I also smell vinyl, or the scent of brand new electronics being taken out of its packaging. That’s hot. The taste is coffee-like, and a noticeable presence of alcohol. This is an enjoyable beer to drink.

I give aroma a 9, taste a 9, and drinkability an 8. With 26/30, it gets a final score of 87. This is an awesome beer. I haven’t been let down by Mikkeller, and I highly recommend it to anyone.

I bought a six-pack today. Not a mixer this time. I’m drinking 2X Stout by Southern Tier.

The aroma is like that of the coffee stouts & porters. The taste is sugary sweet, hoppy, and I taste hints of coffee. The flavor makes it very easy to drink.

I give the aroma a 6.5, the taste a 9.5, and drinkability an 8.5. With 24.5/30, it gets a final score of 82. I like this beer a lot. Too bad the aroma didn’t hit me in an inspiring way, but everything else about it is awesome.
